VADNP Board Member Dr. Lisa Riha

Dr. Riha is a certified family nurse practitioner who has practiced in family medicine since 1995. She is currently the Deputy Women’s Veteran Program Manager, Hampton Veteran Affairs, Hampton, VA, serving and advocating for women veterans at the fastest growing V.A. in the nation. Dr. Riha has obtained grant funding for approximately 1.5 million dollars development towards a center of excellence for women bringing world class care to the forefront. She is a Primary Care provider with a 50% clinical panel, understanding the growing demands of primary care.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic Dr. Riha was the interim director for the HAMVAMC within the IDES Program of Compensation and Pension. This is an amazing vibrant program including both Active Duty and Veterans. Currently she is the SME for Compensation and Pension GYN review. Additionally Dr. Riha completed the Women’s Residency Program online and is a faculty member for the first on site residency program at the Hampton VAMC.
Dr Riha obtained a DNP from Old Dominion University in 2012. She has served on multiple professional boards, receiving the Commonwealth Award of Merit, Brief Events and Observances category for work on the 2012 NP Week Campaign, May 15, 2013, Public Relations Society of America, Richmond Chapter. This set the ground work for Full Practice Authority. She has several publications, poster presentations, along with podium presentations.
