Position Description

  • Providing comprehensive primary care for adult patients including treatment of acute illnesses and intensive medical management of chronic disease. 
  • Performing and documenting comprehensive or focused history and physical including chief complaint and presenting signs and symptoms. Recognizing differences between normal and abnormal findings in H & P. Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, x-rays, physical therapy, and other screening and diagnostic tests appropriately. Developing treatment plans using evidence-based protocols and clinic guidelines including prescribing medications. 
  • Documenting completely in electronic medical record.  
  • Providing clinical consultation to other members of the clinical team Developing and managing NP clinical activities, including patient scheduling, chart review, patient care, and follow-up. 
  • Coordinating with director of clinical services for activities involving clinical administration, appointment scheduling, patient referrals, team meetings, etc. 
  • Supporting pharmacy team in ensuring timely access to medications and identifying additions to the formulary. 
  • Identifying important clinical trends, concerns, problems, or suggestions that need to be considered. 
  • Determining medical emergencies and taking appropriate action. 
  • Discussing unusual medical cases and concerns with the clinical/medical director
  • Job Requirements
  • Current NP VA license
  • Autonomous practice preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in direct patient care as NP
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Part time working 20 hours per weeks primarily weekdays, some evenings as needed.
